DASA Approved DUI Services

Counseling Speaks, LLC has become licensed by the Illinois Department of Alcohol and Substance Abuse (DASA) to provide DUI Evaluations and DUI risk reduction education levels I and II. All of our program staff members are state certified or licensed to provide evaluations, substance abuse education, and counseling. The road to recovery requires consistency. Although individuals may go extended periods without struggling, some periods may be more difficult than others. Accordingly, it is important to have knowledge of resources available for support when one struggles by oneself.

Purpose/Description of Services:

DUI/DWI Level I:

This psycho-educational group format is designed to identify those who may be harmfully involved with alcohol and other drugs and to educate all drivers with DUI/DWI related convictions about the effects of alcohol and drugs on driving. This class is designed to help DUI/DWI offenders increase their knowledge about alcohol and drugs as these substances relate to driving skills, to identify their own individual drinking/drug use and driving patterns, and to assist them in developing plans which will reduce the probability of future DUI/DWI behavior.

The level one class is designed for individuals who have been convicted of driving under the influence (DUI/DUI), or a DUI/DWI amended to reckless driving. This educational class is also intended for those offenders who may be required to secure a drug and alcohol evaluation for an out of state DUI/DWI convictions in order to obtain a license for reinstatement.

DUI Level II:

This educational drug and alcohol course is designed to specifically address issues pertaining to clients who have been convicted of more than one alcohol or drug-related traffic offense. Typically, this class meets the court-ordered requirements for repeat DUI/DWI offenses.
